The WFRC Hardship Fund has been set up to meet the needs by the provision of practical resources for destitute and homeless women and children living in extreme poverty in Wolverhampton.
There are growing numbers of people coming to us for food every week due to various reasons such as domestic violence, job losses, immigration issues, rising costs of living and the scarcity of full time employment. We now work closely with Foodbanks and soup kitchens to support people in temporary difficulties while we meet the needs of the longer term destitute. We continue to provide children’s and adult clothing, baby packs and baby equipment for destitute mothers and essential household items including bedding.
Can you help us to help women and children who are living in absolute poverty, and who need essential items such as food and clothes?
We are in contact with many women who through no fault of theirs have no money to buy vital things for themselves and their children, like food or clothing, catch a bus to attend appointments or even to top up a prepayment gas or electricity meter. You can help us by giving us dried or canned food, flour, new clothes and shoes.
There are lots of ways of helping WFRC raise money, either through a direct donation, or by donating in kind items. You can support these women by:
Making a one off donation
Please give us a one-off donation through PayPal.
Setting up a regular donation via a standing order
Please set up a standing order.
Donating non perishable food
Buy an extra tin or bag of flour next time you’re out shopping. We need: Long life milk, flour, chapatti flour, sugar, tea-bags, tinned tomatoes, soup, beans, spinach, tuna, potatoes, dried pulses and spices, rice, cleaning products, toiletries.
Donating new clothes and new shoes
Children are always growing out of clothes and shoes, but we all know how expensive it can be to buy new items. Please consider buying an extra set of clothing and donating it to a family who have almost nothing.
