Our Baby Bank was launched in October 2020 to support new mothers and families who are struggling to meet the financial and practical burden of looking after a new baby. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic there are more mothers than ever who are simply unable to afford or even access the most basic supplies of food, nappies and wipes for their babies. Our Baby bank aims to support and empower families by ensuring every child has the essential items they need to thrive. We support these families by providing them with new and pre-owned essential baby items and resources, free of charge. We want recipients to feel like they are receiving a gift and not a handout.
We also fundraise to provide other essential items which cannot be obtained via collections to support our new mums and mothers.
HOW TO MAKE A REFERRAL
If you are a parent, professional or voluntary group and need to make a referral:
https://form.jotform.com/wfrcinfo/wolves-baby-bank-referral
You/ your client will need to come to our base at Ranger Drive to collect items for any referrals. We are there on a Thursday morning for collections. We need a user registration for each individual who wishes to access the service. You can contact the referrals team on referrals@wfrc.uk.com. As we are all volunteers and work in other jobs it might take a day or so to get back to you. Thank You
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Donate new or pre-loved Baby items
We accept donations of new and quality preloved baby essentials. Please clean and check any items you bring to us or that you are donating – we want the recipients to feel like they are receiving a gift and not a handout. A general rule of thumb is that if you’d pass the item to your family or friends for their children then its good enough for us!
Below is a list of items needed:
We can only accept new items in unopened packets from this category
We can only accept Good condition second hand items from this category
You can also help out by buying any of the items listed. A few extra items in your shopping basket can change someone’s life.
As we are small and rely on volunteers time it is preferred that items be dropped off! Please ring us before coming & drop off items.
If you are not local to us or unable to drop off items, please get in touch with us and we can arrange collection with you.
Donate your time
Come help us! No amount of time is too small.
You may have an hour here and there in the month to help sort stock.
Maybe you want to fundraise for us, support at an event be it baking us a yummy cake or helping to run a stall to fundraise.
Donate Financially
Every little helps!
Maybe you don’t have anything physical to donate but still want to support families in Wolverhampton and surrounding counties. If you are a person who simply wants to donate or a business who wants to support for all the right reasons, but appreciate the tax benefits for doing so please get in touch with more on how! We can discuss with you ways of making payments and cash donations directly to the bank, if that is your preference.
Cash donations pay for the running costs of Baby Bank, for example, the rent of the warehouse. It is also used to buy essentials for the baskets as well as replacement for donated items or items in high demand when donated stock are in short supply.
